Dr. Al-Jamea: Saudi technical infrastructure has proven its strength during the Corona pandemic

The Director-General of Communications and Information Technology Competencies Development at STC Academy, Dr. Modi Al Jamea, said that investment in cybersecurity is promising, but it faces many challenges, most notably the tendency of professionals in this regard to the job as it provides a high financial return, according to the scarcity of competencies .. Calling for an incubator to launch Specialized national companies.

In this regard, the mosque presented evidence of the strength of the Kingdom's digital infrastructure, which is its management of the G20 summit, which took place this time smoothly and remotely, and raised recommendations that have become global, which include empowering women in the technical fields, and without our sound and strong readiness we would not have managed these World Summit as it was done.

On this basis, and within the digital transformation, the Mosque reports that there are challenges that come as a result of this accelerating transformation, confirming the need to pay more attention to cybersecurity, as the Kingdom is targeted, and it has witnessed powerful attacks that have been able to repel them, indicating that some of the attacks that occur today may not be similar to a day. Tomorrow, which means that the attacking thought must be confronted and developed, as there are attacks on the world called "Corona attack", which are widespread in the world, and take some of the terminologies Corona for penetrations and its implementation, such as discovering a vaccine for the virus.

The Whole stated that electronic warfare is escalating, and we - at the present time - suffer from a shortage of specialized competencies in cybersecurity, despite the noticeable increase in the number of graduates in fields related to this matter, especially those interested in being an investor and entrepreneur, because any specialist is a target of companies the large, which attracts it with the highest salaries and the best sites, which leads to a dearth of investors who hold diplomas in this field, they work mostly as employees, and those who aspire to self-employment must make a great effort, because the cybersecurity of companies is not given to any company, but seeks some Companies rely on their own capabilities.

The Whole suggested that the partnership between cybersecurity professionals be undertaken with those who have the idea of entrepreneurship, as the technical person needs someone to motivate him to start entrepreneurship, and we must develop leadership skills among technical professionals.

She said that the support provided by some government agencies is directed to the technical field in general, but the hope is placed on the Cybersecurity Authority, as it is a legitimate and supportive body, to provide this sector with more proposals that open the horizons of work and investment in this regard ... indicating that entrepreneurship In the fields of cybersecurity there are many, and the opportunities are promising, as there are no Saudi companies specialized in this regard, and most of the companies that work are foreign, and we look forward to having a specialized incubator for entrepreneurs in cybersecurity, so the pioneering thought, if directed, will produce us successful companies in this field.
Regarding the presence of Saudi women in these fields, she said
that some think that cybersecurity is one of the tasks related to strength, so men are preferred over women, while companies attract polarizing competence, regardless of their gender, and that the presence of women in these areas needs support and trust. Some companies attract female graduates but do not place them in fields of work consistent with their specializations.
In her view of the future, it is expected that new laws will appear to support cybersecurity, and may pose a challenge for investors, but this is the right of any person to keep his information and data.
